Make sure to get prepared, since this will be a busy and exciting month – have a look below and enjoy the read!

Summary of May 2019

  •     GovTech Denmark

At the beginning of the month we got invited to be part of GovTech program in Denmark. The GovTech Programme is a challenge-based initiative, which seeks to support, strengthen and further develop collaboration between the public sector and technology companies with innovative solutions (more info here).

The program will run for a total of 40-day period and during that time, Pylon Network will present to the ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, a PoC (Proof of Concept), aiming to demonstrate how Pylon Network’s Neutral Data Hub can play a role in offering transparent and efficient data management infrastructure for regulatory purposes.

  • Intersolar – Munich, Germany

Intersolar Europe, is the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry and Pylon Network team was there to interact, network and be part of the conversation around the booming sector of PV technologies.
It was definitely the place to be for all representatives of the solar industry to learn about the latest trends and technologies within the sector.
During the three days in Munich, Pylon team had the chance to meet in person with industry stakeholders and demonstrate the first digital service offered in the Spanish market.

We are very happy with what we brought back with us from Munich by expanding our network, creating new bridges and the lessons from interacting with the solar energy sector.
In few words, a very intense 3-day period with – surely – very valuable meetings for the project.

  • UNEF –  Madrid, Spain

Organised by the Spanish Union of PV technology, taking place in Madrid, the focus point was the hottest energy topic right now in Spain and Europe: self-consumption in energy communities and the new possibilities that open up with the introduction of the recent – very progressive – regulation RD 244/2019 in Spain.

The interest was apparent: from the number of attendees, to the intense discussions, one could feel that the virgin financial and operational landscape that is opening up for energy communities is attractive to – practically – all energy stakeholders of the supply chain.

  • Meeting with IDAE –  Madrid, Spain

Only a few days ago, we had the opportunity to have a discussion with the Spanish energy institution IDAE (Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía). The conversation evolved around the importance of energy data in relation to the newly-introduced regulation RD244/2019, which has the potential to open up a virgin business landscape.

We had the chance to sit down with the General Director of IDAE, Joan Herrera and exchange our views, identified challenges and vision on how RD244/2019 can be leveraged for creating the optimal conditions for self-consumption and energy communities, playing the role of a catalyst to our energy transition efforts.

We are very glad to see the coordinated steps that Spain is taking towards delivering Distributed Energy Resourcesempowering citizens by giving them voice and transforming passive consumers into active ones.

We are determined to keep engaging with energy stakeholders for ensuring that we squeeze every bit of potential from the opportunities that arise from RD244/2019 in Spain!

Outlook of June 2019

  • Online Webinar (in Spanish): RD 244/2019 and self-consumption

As we have been communicating, through our social media channels as well as other Spanish media outlets, on June 20th, we will be organizing an open webinar together with ATA insights and with the participation of energy experts from Spain, forming a great panel line-up.

The topic in focus: “Energy data and other keys to leverage the business opportunities of the RD244 regulation” –  a very hot topic, after the recent national regulatory changes in regards to self-consumption in Spain.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Belén Gallego – CEO of ATA insights – and will be in Spanish. The participation is open and free to anyone, however, limited “digital seats” will be available.
